Mass production starts later this week for Havoc! The Combat Card Game – so we’re getting closer to getting Havoc! into your hands! This update will touch on the current timeline, then go a bit into the status of Havoc! Campaigns & Skirmishes, then finish up with some new art.
The timeline remains what i sketched out a few weeks back – it still seems likely you will be receiving Havoc! in about three months (meaning, January 2024). The printer will be FedExing the “mass production copy” to me by Halloween so i can do the final sign off on the 1,500+ cards, rulebooks, tuck boxes, etc. The review turn-around should be quick, which means the print run should be completed by November 10th. Given the shipping estimates we’ve received from our fulfillment company, we’re expecting to get the shipment into the U.S. fulfillment center around the Holidays. The fulfillment experts need to inventory things and then get the shipment out, so it still looks like January 2024 is when you’ll get your game. I will let you know if that estimate changes in any way.
This brings me to Havoc! Campaigns & Skirmishes (Havoc! C&S).
As you may recall, C&S is a digital reward that will go to everybody who pledged for a physical reward of some sort (so Shieldmate Tier on up). Havoc! C&S consists of three sections: (a) the Campaigns, which are a series of increasingly more difficult fights; (b) guidance for Skirmishes; and (c) a Skirmish Combat Example, complete with card plays. The Campaigns provide a mix of historical, quasi-historical, and fantasy fights. Besides providing over 140 different Havoc! fights, the Campaigns section also includes guidance for playing Havoc! solo. Layout for Havoc! C&S has been going well and we’re nearing the final version, so i thought i’d share with you some preliminary layout pages of C&S so you can see what it’s looking like. Here it goes –
Havoc! C&S also includes a scoring mechanism so you can track your progress and benchmark your performance. In our playtesting, we’ve found the fights to be very challenging, so consider yourself forewarned!
And lastly, we are continuing to work on the tabletop rpg for use with Havoc!, which means we have additional art we’d love to share with you. Here you’ll see artwork for two additional Locations in our fantasy world – one is a mysterious mound in Charans, and the other is a Goblin village in the swampy wastes of Salavons. Both are courtesy of Megvin, whose talent graces quite a few cards in Havoc! and who by now you’re quite familiar with.
That about sums things up for now. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out – and thanks again for supporting Havoc! The Combat Card Game!
