We’re proud to announce the launch of Havoc! Duel Decks starting the week of April 17, 2022. We thought we’d give a quick overview of the Duel Decks, and also let you know where you can buy them.
At the outset, we want you to know that we are still planning to re-launch a Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds for the full gigantic set of Havoc! The Combat Card Game. We thought launching the Duel Decks as a starter set would be a great way to get Havoc! in the hands of players while we’re working to relaunch the Kickstarter.
We’ve designed five Duel Decks – Gladiators, Romans, Drake Fight, Knights, and Crusades. Each Duel Deck comes with 108 poker-size cards, including cards for Combatants, Weapons, Armor, Wounds, and Bash. Each Duel Deck comes with over 60 of Havoc!’s unique Combat Action Cards – these are full-color cards with very cool illustrations showing fighters carrying out their Attack, Defense, or Pause. In short, players will get everything they need to start slugging it out with their friends in just a few minutes.
What about the rules? Each Duel Deck comes with one poker-size reference card showing the To Hit and Damage procedures for Havoc! The Combat Card Game. And players will be able to get the Quick Start Guide through our website (www.try-havoc.com). Players will also need to provide their own ten-sided dice (a Red Die and a White Die) so they can handle the To Hit Rolls and any Start of Round Effects arising from Wounds or Bash.
Do Duel Decks offer the full Havoc! experience? We had to make some trade-offs in order to deliver all the cards needed for a one-on-one Havoc! fight in one 108-card tuck box. To do this, we had to reduce the number of Wound and Bash cards. The Duel Decks come with six Wound Cards and six Bash Cards, which will provide a range of serious combat effects to give players a taste of how these “game changers” work. The full Havoc! set contains forty-eight of each, which provides for a much more robust and wider range of Wound and Bash effects.
What’s missing? While players will get all the cards they need to play a one-on-one match-up, they won’t get both rulebooks, the playmats, the dice, the tuck boxes, the Body and Fatigue tokens, and over 860 cards that allow the flexibility to run hundreds of different Havoc! fights. But the Duel Decks are fully compatible with the full set of Havoc! The Combat Card Game.
Where are the Havoc! Duel Decks offered for sale? For the time being, we’ll be publishing the Havoc! Duel Decks through The Gamecrafter’s online store. The Gamecrafter will handle the order, including printing and shipping. You can find there store here: www.thegamecrafter.com/games.
Thanks for your interest in Havoc! The Combat Card Game!
